Permanent head office leased at 286 Victoria Avenue North, Hamilton – premises formerly known as the Babies Dispensary Guild

Housed and maintained only Medical Library in the Hamilton and surrounding area – only vehicle for Continuing Medical Education in Hamilton

Society re-organized and incorporated as The Hamilton Academy of Medicine – more than 200 members

1985

Incorporated The Hamilton Academy of Medicine Foundation (formerly known as the Foundation Fund) – a registered charitable organization formed to advance the art and science of medicine in its various branches through public and physician education

1990

Relocated head office with History of Medicine Archival Collection & Museum to 1 Young Street, Suite 206, Hamilton – more than 850 members

1999

Celebrated 100 years of service to the medical community. The History of Medicine Museum was officially incorporated and awarded Charitable Status by Revenue Canada and named after the Founder – Ambrose McGhie Medical Museum

2001

Launched first Academy web site and online services for members – more than 800 members
